The End of Poverty

ProLiteracy would like to share a film opening up around the nation in a few weeks called “The End of Poverty?” , which looks to answer the question of why there is so much poverty in a world with so much wealth and what can be done about it. “The End of Poverty?” premiered at Critics’ Week at the 2008 Cannes Film Festival and has been embraced by anti-poverty activists, faith-based leaders and NGO’s and is narrated by the actor and activist Martin Sheen. The current opening schedule is: New York 11/13 at Village East Cinema Los Angeles 11/25 – Laemmle’s Sunset 5 in West Hollywood and Culver Plaza Theaters in Culver City Portland 12/4 Living Room Theaters Seattle 12/4 – Regal Meridian 16 Austin 12/18 – Regal Arbor Cinema There maybe additional screenings in other cities coming soon.
